I did get this answer after posting my original question. Again, this confirms compatibility in terms of functioning as an open / close system but using together with the MyoPlus may limit use to open / close function.

After I got off the phone with you I sent an email to Taska. Mat Jury, the engineer that designed the Taska hand confirmed that while they have been unable to get a MyoPlus system from Otto Bock to validate, there is no reason to think it will cause any issues. Mat mirrored my comments that the hand will only see it as an Open/Close system. The buttons on the back of the hand will be functional to pick grip patterns and the EMG triggers, Hold Open, Long Hold Open and Double Pulse Open will be available.

As far as battery systems, the 3450 mAhr you are saying the MyoPlus has should be adequate. I don’t know what the quiescent current draw is for the MyoPlus (Otto Bock would know that) but the Taska hand will function all day in most cases with its 2000 mAhr battery.

We are now wanting to explore option for a Multi-Articulated hand with the TASKA being top of the list, based on this client’s work and recreational environment. We have demo’d the hand with this MyoPlus pattern recognition system and indeed it does appear to function, although both OttoBock and TASKA do not certify compatibility with each other’s system.
