Question??
Delivered a prosthesis on Thursday and the pt's house caught on fire Friday
and was a total loss.
I know that Medicare will replace a prosthetic in the event of loss, theft
or damage with proof of a police report or insurance claim.
Problem... No insurance on the house. A police report was filed and states
the house is a total loss but does not specifically indicate that his
prosthetic was in the house. Would the pt need to have that specifically
stated in the police report or indication of the house being a total loss
be enough?
I unfortunately have never had it where there was no insurance involved to
help back up the police report.
Thank you
