Hello Listserv. I have a BK amputee about a month out from a pseudo Ertl
where the physician used hip bone to create a bone bridge to fuse the
distal tibia and fibula due to instability of the fibula. He is in a check
socket using the willowwood one system and has noticed that when walking on
the prosthesis all day he does very well. However, at the end of the day
if he sits for a prolonged period of time, when he stands up he has severe
pain at the distal end that causes his eyes to water. He has looked at his
limb and sees no redness and is only wearing 1 ply socks. I suggested
breaking suction when he sits down, which he will try, but wanted to reach
out to the o and p community for thoughts as this is something I've not
seen in practice before.

Thank you,
Matthew Harris, CPO
