Dear List:
Fitting patients post osseointegration is new to me. An existing TF patient
of mine has recently had the procedure done. He is now allied partial
weight bearing. I adjusted the componentry from his old conventional
prosthesis and he started ambulating.
The implant came with a specialty tube clamp that had a 4-hole threaded
pattern distally for components attachment; however, in order to secure it
on the implant, the patient has to use an allen wrench. It seems to be
inconvenient and in some cases dangerous. He was told by others that there
is a quick disconnect system that disengages with a push of a button. Could
those, who have experience in fitting such cases, steer me in the right
direction?
Thank you.
