Dear Colleagues,
The evidence-based prescription of microprocessor-controlled knees (MPKs) for bone-anchored prosthesis (BAP) attached to osseointegrated implants is still a work in progress.
As you might already know, I have been working with Stefan Laux, Knut Lecher, and their teams on the biomechanics benefits of state-of-the-art MPKs for BAP.
In particular, this work has led to the development of software to record, computing and report the loading profile applied by OSSUR Rheo Knee and Pro-flex foot.
Given your interest in bionic limbs, we thought you might be interested by an article focusing an load applied on osseointegrated implant by transfemoral bone-anchored prostheses fitted with state-of-the-art prosthetic components, we have recently published in Clinical Biomechanics (2021. 89. p 105457).
The article is available OA and free-to-read from <URL Redacted> . All the data will be accessible from Mendeley repository and Data in Brief article shortly.
We believe this information will be most valuable to end-users, clinicians, practitioners, policy makers and more importantly suppliers of prosthetic components.
Please, do not hesitate circulating the information amongst your network as you see fit.
In the meantime, do not hesitate contacting me directly if you need further information.
Many thanks.
Kind regards.
