Day One:
Exactly 45 years ago today, a mere 16436 days ago, also on aTuesday, Jim Scanlon, PT of Fitzsimons Army Medical Center attended the 1976AOPA-Interbor International Congress and Assembly, at the Diplomat Hotel,Hollywood, Florida with an exhibit detailing the X-ray checkout of the Above Knee limb.
A narrated slideshow was included in the exhibit. The O&P library found and preserved thisslideshow and it has recently been converted it to a 7 minute video. It’s now on Vimeo. Some of you have seen this, many of you haven’t.

You know, of every sizeable X-ray study of the Above Kneelimb, Fitzsimons Army Medical Center achieved the greatest adduction in the aboveknee limb ever recorded. It’sinteresting to note that these are basically quadrilateral limbs. It’s curious how the research community hasmissed this opportunity to conduct research that actually might influenceprosthetic practice. They are not exactly lacking for funding, but they'll never admit it.
Let us know if you think such preservation efforts should continue. Do you think this is a worthwhile effort? Do you think it’s worth perhaps a dollar per minuteof video?
May I ask you for a seven dollar donation to the non-profit,all volunteer, Digital Resource Foundation for the Orthotics and prostheticscommunity’s O&P library?
We’ve been around for20 plus years, you know us, this very list serv is one of the offerings of thenon-profit.
If you donate $7 dollars, you are telling Paul thanks forhaving the vision of producing something so utterly boring but potentiallyvaluable, an online O&P library. That’s Carnegie level vision.
Ijust did, seven dollars, didn't hurt at all, Paypal is easy. Below is a direct path to donate, or you can hit the donate button on the library's site, all paths work.

Who knows, we might even have a raffle for those that actually donate, if we do, it will be something interesting. If you donate, let me know. We are all volunteer. Also, let me know if the links actually work through the list serv. I sincerely hope they do . . .
Kind regards,
Charles Russell King, CP
