Thank you so much to everyone that has taken my survey on Clinical O & P Burnout!
Right now we have about 201 respondents, and if we can get to 294 we will have about 95% power! As always your responses have been very interesting. Many of you have identified some common factors that cause burnout in the comments section. You have also revealed some interesting new ideas as well.
I am anxious to compare the groups in terms of certification, office context, and experience and share it with you on the O and P-ListServ.

> Hopefully the COVID restrictions are beginning to relax where you are and you are able to provide care with a greater degree of freedom. Along with so many things, you were probably thinking, “Gosh, it has been some time since Gerry Stark has sent me a strange survey to take!” Well….even if that wasn’t the case, I wanted to ask you all about clinical burnout, because I think this may be an important factor as we move forward.

> I have taken a short 6-question survey and adapted it a bit to Orthotics and Prosthetics. Please answer as honestly as to how you feel right now. If you want to score your self-add up the scores in the Likert scale from 1-5 from “Rarely” to “Very Often for each question then add them up. Here is the scoring guideline to give you an idea as to your level of anxiety:
>
> 15-18 No sign of burnout here
> 19-32 Low sign of burnout here, unless some factors are particularly high.
> 33-49 Be careful — you may be at risk of burnout, particularly if several scores are high
> 50-59 You are at great risk of burnout— you need to do attend to the major factors
> 60-75 You are at severe risk or are burned out—you are in urgent need of change.
>
> Here is the link and feel free to make comments at the end. I will keep it open for a couple of weeks. As always I will post the results for you!
