Hello Listserve;

My name is Jake Washburn, I'm working on my MSOP Capstone at Eastern
Michigan University. I'm studying the shrinkage rates of alginate when used
to clone a transtibial socket. I used a spectra scanner to measure the
models at intervals, but my data is inconsistent on the first pass. I
realized that it had to do with the axis of the file at export between
Spectra scan and Canfit, but the process of rectifying them has been
arduous and not perfect. I was curious if anyone had similarly used these
programs and had any tips or tricks for me. Specifically, I assume there is
a way to write a macro in Canfit that will measure circumferences at
intervals that will automatically adjust the axis to the relative
orientation of each scan, but I have been unsuccessful in writing it thus
far.

Responses from anyone who uses the system at all would be appreciated, as
I've also had a software glitch in Spectra. Some of the scans will randomly
not open, displaying an error that they were created in a more recent
version of Spectra. This isn't possible given the entire workflow is
isolated to the laptop that came with the scanner itself and hasn't been
updated or rolled back that I can see. Has anyone experienced or solved
this in the past? My efforts to reach out to the manufacturer for support
have been met with fees that I cannot support as a graduate student; any
help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for reading!
