Dear Sir/Madam:
Hope this email finds you in good health.
First, please let me briefly introduce our organization DAO. DAO was
founded in early 2004, under the vision that: all persons with disabilities
in Afghanistan will be able to fully and actively participate in
Afghanistan's social and economic life.
Just for your kind information DAO provides physical Rehabilitation
services to Male, females and Children with disabilities , Radio and TV
programs for people with disabilities and publishes a bimonthly disability
publication called Gadoon (meaning Inclusion) published in 3 languages
(Pashto, Dari and English). This organization also provides capacity building
training to government officials, persons with disabilities and
non-governmental organizations, and has assisted in the development of the
national disability terminology in Afghanistan.
Currently DAO is running two physical rehabilitation centers in the
provinces of Kunar and Uruzgan producing artificial limbs for persons with
physical disabilities from the target provinces. In addition to that we are
also implementing a project for the capacity building and promotion of the
civil society in the provinces of Nangarhar, Laghman and Logar, with
financial assistance from Counterpart International. The Afghan Institute
also certifies DAO for Civil Society (AICS). For further information you may
kindly refer to the attached certificate and the DAO activity brochure.
At the moment we are looking for some funding opportunities and seeking
partnership where in case if you are able to assist us at any of the above
activities that will be very much appreciated to let me know.
Kind regards,
Bismillah Khan Safi
