Dear Colleagues,
I am in search of video and photos of bent-knee prostheses that I can
show a patient, so she has an idea of what to expect should she decide
to go that direction.
Female, congenital bilateral transtibial 1 1/2 length tibias, very
small and tapered, 24cm and 21cm circ, full ROM, 5' tall, 170 lbs, 40
yr old mother of two small boys, no comorbidities. Currently wearing
locking liners, joints with laminated thigh cuffs for ML stability.
She has very little control of flexion/extension over the prostheses
because her limbs are so tiny. She feels disconnected from her feet
and the hours it takes me to keep her comfortable and functional as her
weight and limb and thigh volume change are extreme. I will be
presenting to her a plan to cast to near ischial level with knees at
90, microprocessor knees and keep her current Kinterra feet.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
