Hello everyone,

A HUGE thank you for those that have participated in my survey for part of my doctoral project. I am humbled by the responses so far and the support for this research in the O and P profession. The survey has been open for one week and I have received useful data to present in the future. I am leaving the survey link open for one more week if anyone has not taken the survey and wants to participate. I will close the survey after next week Wednesday and begin to analyze the responses to report to everyone. If you don’t have the original e-mail I will repeat what I hope to achieve with this survey.

After many years of clinical practice and teaching, I have decided to pursue my terminal degree in education. Currently, I have completed my first three chapters of the dissertation process and my topic is, “Bullying, mobbing, and harassment in orthotics and prosthetics”. It is a topic that I am passionate about for several reasons and one that I hope to bring awareness to the industry along with possible solutions. I have seen too many quality people (former students) leave the industry and have long term effects due to this behavior. So, I am asking for your help.

My ask of the orthotics and prosthetics audience is to complete the survey if you have time. This validated Negative Acts Questionnaire- Revised (NAQ-R) survey that was developed by Stale Einersen of Norway, has been used by various researchers around the world over the past ten years, and used as a baseline to build further research. The first three questions are for descriptive data purposes and maybe used for future correlations with the NAQ-R.

I would like to compare the results to other allied health professions and hopefully build further research based on the results. The survey is only five questions and should not require much time however it pertains to the last six months of work environment. If encounters happened earlier in your career, there is a comment section if you would like to share a description of the experience. ALL comment responses will be kept confidential.
