Dear Members of O&P Community,

RE: Online survey study on the use of digital technology in the field of orthotics & prosthetics

We would like to invite you to take part in our research study on identifying barriers and facilitators in the implementation of digital technology in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P). The aim of this study is to collect insights and thoughts from individuals in the field of O&P on the uses and trends of digital technology. To broaden our understandings from all perspectives, this study is open to all individuals that have and have not used digital technology in practice previously.

This study will be administrated through a web-based survey. Participants will be asked to share the nature of their job (i.e. occupation, year of experience etc.) and identify the barriers and facilitators to using digital technology that they have faced. For the purpose of this survey, digital technology refers to technology and processes through which one digitally captures or represents the shape of a body part or limb, for example, use of a digital scanner; rectification of a digital file or model; and/or use of these files or models in computer-aided design and/or manufacturing such as milling, carving or 3D printing.

We intend to gather and synthesize the collective knowledge and perspectives of the O&P field and we will share our findings in an O&P specific journal. Participants will also be given the option to receive the results of the study directly. The study will help guide future research to support the implementation of digital technology in everyday O&P practice. Your contributions and insights will be critical to the advancement in our field.

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Your responses will be kept confidential. Here is the LINK< <URL Redacted> > to the survey ( <URL Redacted> ).

Thank you very much for your consideration.
