Text:
Ohio State Budget Amendment Language Would Eliminate OPP State Board and
licensure requirements.
The past several Ohio General Assemblies have included language dealing with
mergers or restructuring of State boards. Those proposals were all tabled.
The current Budget Bill (HB49) contains amendment language to eliminate
licensure for orthotics, prosthetics, and pedorthics.
Obviously this has significant implications for patients and practitioners.
Efforts are underway by the Ohio O & P Association to address the issue
during the two-month deliberation of the State Budget.
