Hello all,
I'm looking for a solution for a pt who has the above dx of his right foot
and ankle secondary to a fall off of a ladder about 3 years ago in which he
fractured both calcanei (if that's the plural of calcaneous?).
He is 6', 230lbs and has worn a CROW boot which, initially was PTB but he
couldn't tolerate the PTB section, so we removed that. Bulk and heat are a
concern and he would like to have ROM at the ankle. The Dr is OK with
whatever design we come up with as long as it offloads the talus. The pt
has a very high arch and calcaneal varus (lateral ankle instabilty, mostly
reducible).
I would greatly appreciate any innovative designs of AFO or KAFO that will
provide this pt with any relief.
Lets assume insurance isn't too much of an issue.............
Thank you all as always!
