Dear Colleagues,
It's that time again. Well, past that time. I apologize, but we've got a February intro-promo running on our new universal Panther that is keeping us hopping.
Every year I reformat the CMS L code file for my own use, then I offer it to others who might benefit. This January I asked Donavan, BDO's VP of Operations and IT/graphics guru, to do the honors-and he's done a great job! Keep in mind, all the information is from CMS. It's just reorganized. We offer it for free. We charge nothing and we accept no liability, but please alert us if you find errors, so we can improve our file. We maintain each version on our BDO website until a new one replaces it.
To receive your copy, go to www.BlueDOrtho.com< <URL Redacted>> and look for L-Code File on the main menu. Fill out and submit the request form and the link will automatically be emailed to you.
In case you're interested, here's how we reformat the CMS file:
* We eliminate all but L codes
* We delete cells not containing information useful to us
* We add an average-allowable column*
* We insert a long-description column to the right
* We clean up and add some color
*A word on the Average column: In the past we've averaged CMS's Ceiling and Floor amounts, but we don't trust those numbers because we can't find them in the spreadsheet. So now we average all states and territories. Be advised that this might have the unfortunate effect of over-weighting regions with the most states and territories.
Regards,
David Hendricks
