Dear List:
Could you please share your experiences with the All-terrain-knee by
LegWorks?
RESPONSES:
We have only done a demo on a patient. Patient was very active and loved
it. He still chose to use another knee (one that he was used and has been
on for 20ish years) but wanted to have a chance in the future to use it for
a longer period of time.
I have only had the chance to fit one about 4 months ago and so far both
myself and the patient are happy. It is stable during stance phase and
seems to have a type of geometric lock (need to load the toe to flex the
knee), not just weight activated stance control. The extension assist
springs (3 of them provided with knee) are nice options and easy to
interchange. The adjustable swing phase friction at the knee center is
sensitive but so are most constant friction knees. It seems very durable
and is warrantied to be water proof. My patient likes to go fishing so I
can't wait to see him after he gets some hard miles on it. I hope this
helps.
I've done four and they worked great, takes the patient a little time to
get the hang of it but once they do it's awesome
It works well. Of course not as smooth as a hydraulic, but very secure and
robust.
I like the knee overall. Pronounced terminal extension good for new
amputees hard to get rid of, but lightweight and very stable in extension
with excellent extension springs you can change - and seemed reliable
although only had one patient using it currently. Very simple lock that is
simple for amputee to use compared to the ottobock and medi gimmicky cable
pull thing that never lasts. Also good value no high price typical of
ottobock either.
