Hi all,
I am Australian Orthotist/Prosthetist. I have just been looking at the socket-less socket and other products that Martin Bionics provide.
I see from their site there are many of you in the US who have completed the training and therefore presumably using the products, I am wondering if you could please give me a general overview of your experience with the products.
Have you found them easy to use?
How is the durability of the product on your clients?
Do you see this as something clients currently doing well on their prosthesis might change onto or are they really options for those who are having difficulty with the more traditional options?
How long are we talking that you need to spend clinical and manufacturing time to get one of these out the door on a client as compared to a more traditional method for the trans-femoral option?
Any other experiences or information you think is relevant for anyone considering to begin using these products would be greatly appreciated.
For those Aussie practitioners on the list I wonder if anyone is already using this here? If so, would love to hear of your experiences also and in addition information in relation to how long delivery times take once the product is ordered, whether you've had any difficulties with funding bodies approving funding for this product and how you think the overall pricing works out for the transfem option in comparison to more traditional socket methods too.
Thanks everyone, will make sure I post a summary of replies.
Kind Regards,
Jackie O'Connor.
