Hi all,
I have a patient with significant 4th/5th finger contractures. Physician has
asked for a progressive stretching splint. I've tried several softer styles
WHFO's with malleable aluminum and the patient easily escapes the devices
with excessive wrist extension. I'd like to avoid crossing the wrist if
possible as well as keep other fingers and thumb relatively free. I'm
currently trying a modified boxer splint to hold position and have the
patient tolerate contact on the hand.
Looking for any alternative suggestions/methods that you have found
successful.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
