I have an obese BK patient that has had issues with liners rolling down his thigh. The patient has been an amputee for 5 years, weighs 375lbs, and has a small limb, roughly 4” MTP to distal end and 31cm circumference. The patient is in a pin lock system and I do not intend to switch suspension systems. Over the years the patient has tried Ossur Comfort, Ossur Synergy Wave, Ossur 6mm Dermo, Alpha (not sure exact liner) and possibly others.
As mentioned, the patients below knee measurements are fairly small, however his thigh is very large, soft and conical. I am trying to find a way to keep his liners from rolling down, which has caused some skin irritation and is overall annoying for him. I have tried cutting at various heights and cutting in a wave pattern.
Any suggestions, solutions, or creative ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks,
