Good Morning,
We have an AK patient that has a scar tissue and invaginations on her residual limb. She is in a suction suspension system using a seal in liner. The main problem is that every time she contracts her muscles during walking a void is created between the seal and the socket, and she looses suction. We are trying to look for solutions that does not involve changing her suspension system as she likes it a lot. We have considered custom liner and are considering making just an invagination silicone pad (filler) for that area so she can wear it against her skin and the liner. Any ideas on what materials to use, how to create a the filler in a safe way for the patient or any other ideas or suggestions on how to tackle this situation?
Every idea and advice is more than welcome.
Thank you,
Orializ Gonzalez
