Hello List,
I have a patient with recent B/L Quad tendon repairs who needs to be in bilateral custom metal KAFO's as soon as the cast comes out. Patient weighs well over 340 lbs.
Although initially intended for weight bearing with locked knees, eventually, we want to be able to allow a graduated ROM for rehab/therapy.
Any suggestions on knee joint options that has a locking mechanism (cable) and also an adjustable ROM?
In the past, for such cases, I have gotten custom KAFO's with cable release lock mechanisms for walking, and switch them to Post-op ROM Knee Orthosis for passive motion and therapy. I was hoping to achieve this with just one set of braces rather than having two.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!!
Thanks,
