Dear List,

We have a 46yr old female patient battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and has inquired with the clinical team about undergoing an elective unilateral transtibial amputation to address debilitating pain. She also hopes that the amputation will improve her mobility.??

Do you have any experience with a person having Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and undergoing a transtibial amputation to address debilitating pain or to increase mobility? If so, what were the outcomes?

thanks,

Duane Nelson CP(c)
