Good morning,
I have a long (just short of a wrist Disarticulation) Below Elbow amputee
who we are going to be refitting with a myoelectric prosthesis. His
previous one was supracondylar and caused a lot of skin problems over the
condyles. We want to remove the condylar suspension and use a gel liner
with distal lock. I have heard of two different systems;
1. Motion Control Snap On
2. OttoBock Silicone liner with carbon fibre filaments.
What problems are there with either system?
Can the donning be consistently the same for electrode positioning?
Do the wires break down faster (AC)?
Are there other systems out there that I am not aware of?
If you could advise?
Thank you for your assistance.
