Here is the original post followed by replies. Thank you!
I have a family that wants custom transfer paper. We found a local printing
company with a sublimation printer...they did some test transfers for us,
but the paper they use sticks to our plastic...have tried several different
ways, with release agent, without, different plastics, and nothing is
working...the paper sticks to the plastic.
Is there a specific paper we could get the ink printed on that works best?
Looking for suggestions.
Have you heard of wet dipping? Water based transfers in many patterns. See
it on You Tube.

I know that the folks at Sure Step have the ability to print custom transfer
paper. Try calling them
What size of sheet are you looking for?
We spent a lot of time with this as well and it's not the paper. The paper
itself is like a serving tray and it is coated usually with a micro thin
clay film so we will call it the plate.
The film is what holds the image (dinner) If the film is to thick it will
slide around, if it's too thin it will melt away and then the paper makes
contact with the plastic.
The other issue is that it's very difficult to get the black ink to stay
black upon transfer and usually comes out brown. The standard papers we are
used to are made in Germany by a company called TransferTex.
In order to have an image made beyond a possible 1 time sample is 3000
meters per design.
Friddles can make a custom transfer and believe it is big enough to an adult
size afo.
I think they use parchment paper for the transfers
