Management of lower-limb dysfunction is one of the primary goals of prosthetic and orthotic clinical practice. A sound understanding of gait and its effect on the activities and functions of O&P patients is essential to providing appropriate clinical services. This course will enable clinicians to apply evidence-based principles to gait assessment and documentation in their clinical practices. Presentations will be based on the best available research and evidence taught by experienced faculty.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of motor disability in children, affecting as many as one in every 250 live births in the United States. In order to provide comprehensive care for individuals with CP, an interdisciplinary team must work collaboratively to address the multifaceted nature of this condition. This certificate program is designed to provide the orthotist with a fundamental understanding of the principles essential to the treatment of cerebral palsy.
