Dear listserve,

As prosthetic providers we have a voice in the shaping the draft LCD. If
you have not signed the petition or submitted a statement yet..... you
should. The more signatures and comments the more effective we will be.

Even though we have a voice, the Medicare recipients have a much louder
voice and are more likely to be given their due consideration.

Signing the petition is important and you should ask all your patients to
do it, but more importantly you should ask them to submit a comment to the
DME MAC's. All they need to do is send email to...
* <Email Address Redacted>
< <Email Address Redacted> >* and address it to *Dr. Stacy Brennan*.

It may help to offer your patients a suggestion on what to commit on.

A part of the LCD which really speaks clearly to amputee's is the addition
of the following restrictions to the K3 and K4 classifications....
 Does not require the use of any mobility assistive equipment such as a
cane, crutches, walker, or wheelchair.

<URL Redacted>

Being almost every amputee doesn't sleep with their prosthesis, most
amputee's use an assistive device to get to the bathroom in the middle of
the night..... this affects every amputee, no matter how high functioning
they are (especially because private insurance generally adopt medicare
policy).

Best Regards
-Jeff
