Hello dear friends and complete OANDP list.
18 years ago I had the case of a child with a hip disarticulated amputee where I could not use the weight bearing on the amputated side so I made a prosthesis for hip disarticulated with ischial weight bearing on the sound side.Currently I have a female patient 40 years old with congenital amputation of hip where I can not lean on the pelvis on the amputated side because it lacks ischium and the formation of his pelvis leaves a shortening 6 cm above the level of the ischial of opposite side but also she does not tolerate any pressure because of his bone formation is 45 degrees of angulation and a sharp ridge that hurt her when I put under load.Someone else has made hip prosthesis for disarticulated loaded on the ischium of the healthy side, when I made this the patient was a kid with good physical condition. Now I would like to have feedback on the design used by anyone with experience on this option and also know their results, I hope you can share images.
Thank you in advance for all your help.Juan Carlos Camacho Gomez CPO.
