So recently our local VA has taken to ordering diabetic shoes without diabetic inserts.
We all know that you cannot dispense diabetic inserts unless they are fitted into diabetic shoes. Given that, is it reasonable to believe that extra depth shoes should not be considered diabetic shoes unless they are fitted with diabetic inserts?
Certainly the innersoles that come in extra depth shoes do not meet the standards for diabetic inserts, and Dr Comfort shoes do not come with any inner sole at all.
