Thank you to all who answered by request for recommendations concerning a
transfemoral patient with significant residual limb burns. Responses are
summarized as:
Most folks recommended using gel liners with the majority recommending
Urethane /PUR liners. Ossur Distal End caps frequently mentioned as
well. Those not using these, recommended Willow Wood Original or Silipose
due to being a softer gel.
Suction and Vacuum suspension most frequently recommended. Distal end
suspension to be avoided.
Strongly advised to maintain good lubrication over damaged skin with A/D
ointment or Sensicare lotion.
