Hello List,
I have a friend who today brought the following situation to my attention in hope of an answer.
The one bicycle fitter in Ukraine (in Kyiv) has a client who lost his hands while in military service and wants to ride a road bike of some kind. He needs to be able to work bike controls, put a few pounds of force into a brake lever and the stability to hold the rider's back at a 135 degree angle from the ground. Are there any prosthetic hands capable of doing this? My friend says it would be important not just to help this man ride a bike but also to get him into a visible place in an area where the disabled are not fully respected or supported.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance for your help,
