Good Afternoon,
I'm looking for suggestions from those experienced in fabricating AFO's (or
prosthetics of similar materials) using polyurethane molds derived from CAD
files. Our facility has been doing research with different density foam
carvings as well as different techniques with vacuum forming thermoplastics
and padding over these positive models.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on processes developed within
facilities experienced with CAD/CAM and the fabrication steps used for
vacuum forming and removing plastic from the carvings. Any suggestions on
particular stockinette, nylon materials, release agents, material moisture
or specific temperatures are welcome. Thanks in advance!
