Hi All,

I am seeking some advice about a custom minerva. The patient has about 60-70 degrees of thoracic kyphosis being the main challenge. She was in an OTS minvera with the metal uprights contoured to her anatomy but developed a chin ulcer that would be ideal to have open to air in the new brace (or at a strap that can be removed). As the doctors put it to us, she has hardware from O-C5 but is not fully stable and the goal is to have her inbrace for 3 months. At the current time, she is an inpatient with other barriers like a trac tube, a chest tube and a g tube. Has anyone braced someone with this much thoracic kyphosis? We are open to ideas outside the box.

Thanks!

Melanie Larsson, CO
