Dear List,
I need your advice. A family member of mine underwent a total elbow
replacement. The replacement became infected and had to be removed.She
currently has a spacer on and after a long recovery period the infection
has been resolved. According to her surgeon a second replacement is not an
option.
So here are the questions....
1) Does anyone have any experience bracing this sort of situation? What are
your bracing recommendations? Custom or off the shelf? Since she lives in
New York and I am not in the area I won't be doing the bracing myself so I
also need a recommendation for an orthotist with experience and patience-
feel free to self nominate.
2) Does anyone know a really good doctor for a second opinion. Preferably
someone in the New York area but she is willing to travel.
