Hello!
Many of you asked to learn about the responses I received regarding the use of a custom image on transfer paper. Sorry for the late response as I have not yet tried these methods on the patient I mentioned earlier.
Some common responses:
1) the only way to make a custom transfer pattern is to find a professional printer/print shop that has a sublimation ink printer that can scan the image you want and then print it out on a paperstock which you can then use the same as a regular transfer.
2) Lots of people suggested using T-shirt transfer paper - you can buy the paper stock and then print your image on it and then use that on the hot plastic - I tried this a couple of times and it would just scratch off like a scratch ticket
3) Bernie from SureStep notified me that they can make custom transfers. You can call them directly to figure out what to send in.
4) Try friddles orthopedics. They can custom print.
5) Mirror the image, increase the saturation, then print it from a color laser printer on to a piece of parchment paper. You could use regular paper, but you'd need to coat it with some thin PVA glue to act as a separator. Practice on a piece of scrap paper first.
Thanks,
