I've been hunting for any information of people who may have developed adaptive techniques or protocol for teaching couples dance to amputees or brace wearers. So far my online google searches for amputee dancing or disabled dancing has only turned up an organization that teaches dancing to wheelchair users, and that certifies instructors to do this, but nothing about teaching amputees or brace wearers in a group classroom setting. I'm aware of Amy Purdy's involvement on Dancing with the Stars, a good professional instructor can probably tailor teaching this in a private lesson format, but can it be done in a more affordable group classroom setting within the means of the average amputee? Any information you have would be appreciated, I am trying to assemble a group of dance instructors and amputee participants to attempt this, and I would like to avoid re-inventing the wheel if at all possible.
