Dear List,
Have a patient that has worn a trigger lock KAFO for years, isolated quad
weakness. Just made a new one 6 months ago, now diagnosed with medial
compartment OA...never a problem in the past, now lots of pain. I don't
have the option of making a new KAFO. What suggestions (tips and
tricks...pictures would be great) would you have to use the existing KAFO
and modify it to unload the medial compartment? As simple as applying
foam/cushion inside the lateral joint to apply pressure medially? Strapping
system? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
