A common problem I've noticed with prosthetic use in extremely cold environments is that the socket acts as a heat sink and the residual limb(s) feel cold, even before the rest of the body. I've tried taping hand warmers to the socket which didn't really work and tried using hand warmers against the skin which made me nervous about altering the fit.

One particular patient of mine, a bilateral AK, is currently cycling across the US. He's in Colorado now, during freezing temps, and I plan to ride with him this weekend. So I'm looking for a good solution I can bring with me.

Please support his effort and any ideas with regard to warmers would be greatly appreciated!
