Dear List-During this time of year when we are all busy, but also taking the time to think of others in need, I invite you to visit the 2 links below and see if there is any help you might want to offer. I know that there have been practitioners in our field who have visited and helped treat the kids at St. Vincent's in Haiti throughout the years, especially after the earthquake in 2010. If you read the blog post (2nd link) you will see that the school is struggling to just feed all the children--all their revenue is going to food, to the point they can no longer pay to even have electricity.
Following is the mission statement from the West Tennessee Haiti Partnership:
The purpose of the West Tennessee Haiti Partnership is to bring hope and healing to the desperately poor children of St Vincent's Center for Handicapped Children in Port au Prince, Haiti. The school has about 200 students. All suffer from physical handicaps such as blindness, deafness, or missing limbs or other crippling physical deformity. Without the educational opportunity of St Vincent's School, these children would be begging on the streets for their food.
