Here is the original post about Willowwood.
We just had 4 custom liner orders canceled by Willowwood. Has anyone else
had this happen? WW said as of Nov. 1 they were told they could no longer
use their gel due to a court order.
I had many responses that are all similar. There was a lawsuit between OWW
and Alps, OWW lost and are not able to continue making their Gel liners.
Unfortunatley, OWW has been silent as to what we can do for our patients
until this issue gets resolved (if ever). Right now there is not any
manufacture that makes a custom gel locking liner, so for those patients
that are in custom locking liners and have sensitivity to ureathane, TPE or
silicone, we have a problem. One question that was asked, is what do we do
and who will pay when we have to remake a prostheis because we will have to
use different liners.
