I have a patient with Medicare that has just received a power wheelchair. Can I still bill Medicare for his orthosis and prosthetic? I am concerned that it will be denied due to his ambulatory status. What does Medicare consider Ambulatory? Is there a percent that qualifies for an orthosis? I know K levels are used for prosthetics but does it apply to orthotics. Looking for any help. I will post replies.
