Hello Fellow Orthotic and Prosthetic Providers,

As everyone of you is aware, our industry is suffering from the
results of unfair, poorly thought out regulations that are in great
needs reform. Some of you may not know that CMS and the RAC auditors
are not only treating us unfairly but are acting Illegally.
By law, a Prosthetist is a Qualified Practitioners and by law
Practitioner records are part of the Medical Record for justification
purposes.

The problem is that CMS has neglected the Law (BIPA, section 427) for
nearly 13 years and still consider Prosthetists suppliers instead of
practitioners. We need to draw attention to this fact, require that
CMS change their recent Physician documentation requirements, and
start treating Prosthetists like PT's and other Medical Practitioners.

In the interest of forcing Medicare to follow the law, I have started
a petition....

Please sign this petition and spread the word about it. I have found
that Patients and Doctors welcome my interest in this type of
grassroots action. They see that you are working for them, and they
start considering you part of the solution instead of part of the
problem (They realize that it is not that our practices are requiring
the extra paperwork, but medicare is currently forcing on us.)

After signing I would recommend that you forward a link to the
petition to everyone you know. I have also created a PDF that you can
print off and handout to your patients....

Please sign the petition, spread the word about it, and help fix the
regulatory suffering that our field is experiencing.
