Hello Colleagues,

I don't normally fit shoes, but I find myself with a shoe patient. The
facility in which he resides wants him in decent shoes and has asked me
to help them.

We tried Apex Ambulator shoes, but no go.... the patient is
paralyzed and his feet are plantarflexed about 15 degrees. As a result,
the padded collar pushes into his Achilles' tendons too strongly; we are
concerned that he could have skin breakdown/pressure ulcers if he were
to wear the shoes for an extended period of time.

Can any of you recommend a decent-looking shoe with a low, soft, pliable
Achilles' tendon collar?

Thanks,

Bill Lifford, CP
