August 7 marks the eighth anniversary of the launch of OPAF’s national
award winning First Volley™ Adaptive Tennis Clinics. Since that time, OPAF
has developed ten more First Clinics offering a wide variety of
recreational opportunities to anyone with a physical challenge. OPAF has
hosted over 200 First Clinics across the nation, affecting the lives of
over 6500 attendees. This has been done at no cost to any participant!
OPAF will introduce First Fit™ as the newest member of the OPAF family of
clinics in Orlando on Saturday, September 21 as part of the Limb Loss
Education Day at the Gaylord Palms in conjunction with the AOPA World
Congress. First Fit will offer an introduction or re-introduction to a
fitness routine developed for the individual needs of each participant. The
clinic will feature NFL Hall of Famer, Joe DeLamielleure as part of our
teaching staff. Joe earned a reputation for always being in top physical
condition while playing as an offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills and
later in his career for the Cleveland Browns. OPAF will also host our
always popular Silent Auction during the meeting in the exhibit hall for
all to enjoy along with the Fall Thranhardt Golf Classic at the beginning
of the week.
None of this would be possible without the donations and financial support
of the O & P industry and our sponsors and partners. Thank YOU for helping
us to continue ‘Giving Wings to Dreams!” You can help us continue the work
with your donations to OPAF and The First Clinics with support of our
fundraising activities and contributions. Visit www.opafonline.org for
more information or call the OPAF office at 980-819-9404
