You Able non-profit organization help to Terre Des Hommes Syria
Machines and orthopedic components for the workshop in the war zone
Thanks to the support of the Foundation Prosolidar begins this month sending machines and materials to allow the resumption of the work of the orthopedic workshop of Terre Des Hommes Syria, to restore hope to children amputees.
2 years and 3 months of conflict, 93 thousand of which 6,500 fewer victims
It was on March 3, 2012, when one of the first articles on the growing conflict Reuters Syrian contained the following statements: Scary massacre (Ban Ki-moon) Extremely virulent rhetoric Syria's UN Ambassador Bashar Jaafari, Where is the world? Activist; It is unacceptable, ICRC President Jakob Kellenberger. Nowadays the situation has not changed: national and international institutions helpless in front of so much horror and use of arms chemical.
The mechanism of international humanitarian aid has set in motion major destinations such as refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq.
In 2011 started the collaboration between Syria-Italy: the Italian company Roadrunnerfoot Engineering and Terre Des Hommes Syria. Collaboration through which 10 Iraqi children amputees started to walk again. It was a small project but just the beginning.
The support of the Foundation Prosolidar today was instrumental in getting a supply of orthopedic kit and restart the work of the orthopedic workshop in the conflict zone.
Oven and vacuum pumps - provided by the Dutch Jos America - implants and materials supplied by the Italian Roadrunnerfoot Engineering Ltd. are ready for hard target at a reduced cost.
Thanks to the sensitivity of their CEOs - Caspar America and Daniele Bonacini - that gave birth to the bold project: replace the machines orthopedic workshop damaged by the conflict to give way to the technicians to continue to give hope to the victims.
21 will be the complete prosthesis with the materials for orthotics and repairs will help around 40 people affected by the conflict.
The work of the Association You Able is completely free and voluntary, no operating cost has been charged to the project.
The appeal of the Association is to contribute to increase orthopedic kits that will be sent.

Terre Des Hommes Syria was founded in 1967, during the Six-Day War, to give free assistance to Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Aleppo, Damascus, Lattakia, Kfarseta. The workshop orthopedic Ousrat al-al-Ikha'a Souria - Bab Touma / Damascus - has always been known as a center of excellence to help people with disabilities, operating there 4 doctors in rehabilitation (amputee, cerebral palsy, spinal deformitie , paralysis) and 4 orthopedic technicians. Terre Des Hommes Syria is still one of the best organizations in the field of managing humanitarian interventions, shifting its focus according to the needs of the country: from refugees to people with disabilities, giving a fundamental contribution in eradicating polio in 1985, and, today, always devoting greater attention to children, helping all victims of the conflict.
You Able Onlus is the Italian association that works for people with disabilities in Italy and abroad: rehabilitation activities, donation aids and promotion of sport. The Association was founded by 6 people who have always worked as volunteers and not, in the defense of persons with disabilities in several areas: communication, advocacy, sport, accessible technology, rehabilitation. In 5 months of operation, the Association has already helped Italians and not (Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Ghana). The situation in countries of greatest need such as Syria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Palestine, are now his mission.
