Dear list,

I received the following replies to the question below. Thanks for all the
input. I have decided to try the Ossur Total Knee Junior.

Dear OandP list,

I am working with a 7 year old congenital amputee that weighs 56lbs. She
likes to frequent the sandbox and care for the prosthesis is not ideal. She
is currently using the ST&G Pediatric 4 bar knee
<URL Redacted> and
durability has been an issue. I have looked at a few alternative knees such
as the Ossur Pediatric total knee but would like your feedback based on
which knees have been durable and easy for the child to use properly. Thank
you in advance for your input. I will post replies back to the list.

I worked at the Shriners for several months during my residency. They put
many if their international kids in the total knee for its durability and
cost

Daw TK40c 4 bar, Ossur Total knee and Trulife 4 bar Childsplay. Daw being
the most durable and trulife being the least.

Have fit Ossur Total knees for very young patients with excellent results.
Would certainly recommend them.

I have been extremely pleased with the pediatric four-bar knees from
Proteor. They are available thru both PEL and Cascade

sand+prosthetics=breakdowns! Not sure you are going to find anything that
will withstand kneeling in a sandbox.
