Subject: Location of posterior offset knee joints for flaccid limb on
trans-tibial amputee with seal in suction socket

Dear list,

I have a 60 something gentlemen who has a completely flaccid limb from
polio and a trans-tibial amputation. I will be using a seal in liner for
suspension and I have some concerns for the best location of the Otto
Bock 20mm posterior offset knee joints. Can someone give me a good sound
starting point (height) for the location of this joint with respect to
the patellar tendon bar or the medial tibial plateau? My concern is
sitting comfort as the limb will be pulled out of the socket and
anterior when sitting. He will have to release a valve for sitting
comfort. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Regards,
