Dear oandp-l subscribers,

The family of Stefan Moser had contacted me with the following sad news. I
had known Stefan for the past few years, and he will be missed in the O&P
community.

Paul

In loving memory of our founder and friend

Stefan Moser, 1958-2013

CERTIFIED PEDORTHIST, PROSTHETIST/ORTHOTIST (CH) & PEDORTHIST (USA)

Stefan earned his certification after a four-year apprenticeship in Lucerne,
Switzerland, in 1980. His first professional tenure was working for the
International Red Cross for two years in Angola and Lebanon building
prosthetic workshops and training/supervising local technicians in the
fitting of hundreds of transtibial amputees, casualties of their respective
civil wars. Stefan arrived in Southern California in 1983 where he
continued to refine his skills in prosthetic, orthotic and pedorthic
solutions.

In 1989, he founded Swiss Balance Inc., Prosthetics, Orthotics, Pedorthics
in Santa Monica and has been providing well-recognized professional care to
the greater Los Angeles area, in addition to a diverse roster of
international clients.

Stefan was certified in Pedorthics in 1991 as recognized by the national
governing board, the American Board for Certification in Orthotics,
Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC). He was also a member of the
International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO).

Stefan passed away unexpectedly, during an off-road adventure trip in the
Mojave desert, succumbing to the desert heat. He will be sorely missed by
his family, team, friends and clients.
