Hello List,
Is anyone aware of a dressing that can be worn while wearing a prosthesis. I have a patient (TF, suction socket), who has a chronic wound about 5 cm below the ischial seat, where the skin is extremely fragile. The wound heals when he discontinues prosthetic use, but resumes as soon as he continues use. I am looking for a thin, fabric backed (low friction), flexible dressing, non-stick surface toward the skin, and breathable. Yes, we have explored a thousand socket variations and will continue to do so and no, he is not diabetic. The skin here is simply very fragile from past scarring and irritation. Any suggestions are appreciated.
