Hi List,
I've been a busy person writing to Congress-persons and various other government entities over our industry's troubles with audits and Medicare regulations.
I just received a return call from Congressman Steve Cohen's office. They seem interested in coming out to my office for a discussion and photo-op over our problems. The idea that I've really stressed is that this is not something that has come from the sequestration. This has been an on going war against our industry. That we have such a small voice in Congress compared to the insurance companies and Exxon. That we are the little guy and these requirements/audits are preventing patient care. It is preventing Veterans and Medicare recipients from receiving the prosthesis they need to allow their functional independence.
I'll let the list know of any further developments.
Fingers crossed,
M. Britt Spears, CPO, FAAOP
