Hi list serve, Here are the answers I received from my original question listed below. In our experience it seems as if the 3-4 week response is calculated from the deadline on the audit letter. If you send your information in early before the deadline it appears your wait will be longer. Our information is only based on approvals, so I can't comment on denials. -Dave original question:What is the average response time you are experiencing on the pre payment k3 audits after you submit the documentation? Do you see a difference in time if it is approved vs. rejected?

I am guestimating about 3-4 weeks. There does not seem to be any difference
in the time frame for approval vs. denial.

Joan Cestaro---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In our clinical practice www.optimusprosthetics.com , pre-payment audits
were taking 3-4 weeks when we filed by USPS. Then we switched to having our
Medicare consultant Wayne van Halem www.vanhalemgroup.com file
electronically (which is a free service he offers to his existing clients)
and just this week we received 1 approval in 9 calendar days and 2 approvals
in 8 calendar days.

We're in Region B so we're getting 100% pre-payment audits right now. We
even got hit with a K1 pre-payment audit in which Medicare was the
secondary!

Attached is a flow chart illustrating the direction that we've headed as far
as integrating therapists to assist in gathering documentation more
efficiently. The flow chart is part of our DocSys100 that we just released
on Monday. I've attached an overview and price list as well. If you're
interested in scheduling a 1-on-1 GoToMeeting 1-hour informal FREE webinar
with me, let me know.

Best,

-Scott
